Obituary of Thomas F. Hemming
NORTH GREENBUSH –
Thomas F. Hemming, 67, of North Greenbush, formerly of Troy, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 11, 2024.
He was born in Troy on January 4, 1957, son of the late Robert and Patricia (Ratelle) Hemming. Thomas lived in the Capital District all of his life. He received his education from Troy High School, and also Oswego College and Russell Sage, obtaining his Masters in Community Psychology.
His employment history included working for Rensselaer County Department of Social Services, Ellis Hospital Mental Health Department and Aristacare, LLC.
Mr. Hemming served in the United States Army from 1975 until 1977 in Germany and returned home with an honorable discharge for his service.
His hobbies and interests included collecting antiques and vintage finds. Thomas enjoyed frequenting garage sales and flea markets as well as trips to the seaside and to the mountains.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Deborah Stewart, whom he married in Dorset, Vermont.
He is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Jason (Jennifer) Hemming and two nieces, Sarah and Lydia.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his brother, Robert Hemming, Jr.

Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
