Thomas C. Higgins

Thomas C. Higgins, age 96, of Richland Center passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Schmitt Woodland Hills. Thomas was born on December 2, 1929 in Richland Center the son of Francis and Bertha (Schauf) Higgins. He was married on August 16, 1951 to the former June L. Brewer.

Thomas worked on the family farm his whole life and enjoyed helping his neighbors and other farmers who were in need.

He is survived by his children, Julie (Gary) Herdahl, Prairie Farm, WI, Mary (Daryl) Burmaster, Hillsboro, WI, Dan (Kristy) Higgins, LaValle, WI; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren with another expected in June, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June; parents Francis and Bertha; a sister, Mary and a granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's the Assumption Catholic Church in Richland Center. Fr. Nathan Kuhn will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary's the Assumption Catholic Church or Schmitt Woodland Hills.
