Cletus J. Bauer age 95 of Richland Center passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family, following an extended battle with cancer. He was born on August 23, 1930 in Muscoda, Wisconsin the son of John G. and Gladys B. (Howland) Bauer. Cletus served in the United States Army 1950-1953. On December 9th, 1950, he married his wife Donavoine M Dobbs. He was a family man first an avid sportsman, loved spending time in his 4 gardens and lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs. Cletus was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Richland Center American Legion Post #13. He worked for the city of Richland Center for 53 years where he held through various roles with the majority of the time working at the Power Plant. During "retirement" he worked part time for Subway maintaining the grounds.
Survivors include wife, Donavoine (Dona) Bauer of Richland Center, children, Jackie (Bob) Close, Rick Bauer, Kathy (Sterling) Sutton, Dennis (Betty) Bauer, Paula (Dale) Wilson, Chris (Bill) Roberts, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, siblings Jack Bauer, Audrey Pletzer, Tom Bauer, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Bauer, Sisters, Madonna Bauer, Judy Johnson and his brother Kenny Bauer. And loving in laws Janice Bauer and Herbert Pletzer and special Grandson Tim McNamer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church in Richland Center, WI. Fr. Nathan Kuhn will officiate with burial in the church cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Local Veterans Military Memorial Honors Unit. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass with a Veterans Final Salute prior to Mass. Online condolences available at www.staffordfuneralhomes.com.
