Thomas E. "Cowboy" Hipple, 73, of Snow Shoe, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 11, 2025. Born on August 18, 1951, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late John E. and Ellen (McGonigal) Hipple. He married Patricia "Patty" Shivery at Brookside Wesleyan Church in Julian. She survives at home.

Tom attended Bald Eagle Area High School. He worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter and was affectionately known as "Mr. Fix-It" throughout the Mountaintop area. Friends and neighbors often turned to him for help, and there was little he couldn't repair.

A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Tom enjoyed tinkering around his house and yard. He had a passion for working on small engines, especially lawn mowers, and he was an avid reader of Western novels.

When Patty became ill, Tom lovingly stepped into the role of caregiver. He gave selflessly of his time and energy, never wavering in his devotion to her-a role he took on with deep love and pride.

In addition to his beloved wife, Tom is survived by three sons: Thomas E. Hipple II of Osceola Mills; Shane M. Hipple and his wife, Arleshia, of Erie; and Frank R. Hipple and his wife, Sara, of Bellefonte. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: brothers John, Norman, and Frank Hipple, and sisters Virginia "Ginny" Hill and Kathryn "Sis" Shuey. Tom was the last of his generation.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. A small family-led service will follow at 8:00 PM. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe, PA 16874.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc., in Snow Shoe, PA. An online guest book is available, and condolences may be shared at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
