Thomas Grant Hooper

Thomas Grant Hooper (Grant), age 73, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 in Spartanburg, surrounded by loved ones. Grant was born on February 10, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia to Augustus Barnett Hooper and Dorothy Kunkel Hooper. He grew up in Spartanburg and graduated from Dorman High School in 1970. He then studied Design and Engineering Drawing at Massey Institute of Technology in Florida. He was employed with Texpa America for 21 years and with Menzel for 13 years. He retired in 2021. On July 24, 1993, he married Judy Wheeler in Seneca, South Carolina. They were devoted to one another throughout their 32 years together. Grant was known for his welcoming personality and commitment to his wife, daughter, and two granddaughters. He enjoyed cooking, traveling with Judy, and gathering with his many friends. He is survived by those he loved: his wife Judy; his daughter Victoria Revell (Guy); his granddaughters, Kailey and Kristen; his sister Donna Campsen (Larry); his brother Dennis Hooper (Donna); his stepmother, Val Hooper; Judy's sister Linda Jones (Doug); Judy's brother Terry Wheeler (Deborah). Grant's mother and father preceded him in death. A receiving of friends will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Living Waters Funeral Home & Crematory; 529 Spartanburg Hwy S. Lyman, SC 29365. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospital, Mary Black Hospital, and the Spartanburg Hospice House for their care and support.
