Thomas "Tom" Caldwell Humphries, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 11, 1948 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Lucille Caldwell Humphries and Charles Hillard Humphries, Jr. and was the husband of the late Deborah Lynn Pearson Humphries of 33 years.
A US Army veteran, Mr. Humphries was a graduate of Spartanburg High School where he played football and earned his bachelor's degree from Clemson University.
Survivors include his daughter, Janie Humphries; stepdaughter, Kelly Powell; grandchildren; and his sister, Nancy Hardy of Spartanburg, SC. He was predeceased by a brother, The Rev. Charles Hillard Humphries, III, and his stepson, Patrick Easler.
A Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Drayton Baptist Church, 1645 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. David Frost.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorials be made to The J. F. Floyd Mortuary, for Deborah Humphries Memorial Fund, P.O. Drawer 1530, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
