Thomas H. Hutras

Thomas H. Hutras, 93, of Dover, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 25, 2022.
He was born on January 5, 1929, in Tin Town of Dover. He was the son of the late Harry E. and Maude (Edwards) Hutras.
Thomas was a proud 1947 graduate of Dover High School, where he lettered in football. He honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant. While serving, he participated in the Battle of Inchon, the Battle of Seoul, and the Chosin Reservoir Campaign. He received the Korean Service Medal with Three Stars, the Presidential Unit Citation with One Star, and a Purple Heart.
He was a Union Bricklayer throughout the area and worked for William Hutras Construction. He was also a talented draftsman. Thomas was a past President of the Dover Tornado Club and coached Little League Baseball.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, MaryLou Lawless, whom he married on December 24, 1953. He also leaves behind his four children, Maude (James C) Sherer of Stone Creek, Margaret (David "Whitie") Crites of Tuscarawas, Tommie Maureen Kennedy of Dover, and Gus (Randee) Hutras of Santa Fe, Texas. He was a beloved Papou to Robert (Erika) Kennedy, Clarence Kennedy, Clinton Crites, Jonathan Kennedy, Nathaniel (Jenn) Sherer, Tessa (Quentin) Murray, Clayton (Avery) Crites, Ashlee-Raine Hutras, Aasin Hutras (Caroline Tassin de Montaigu), Attikos Hutras (Laura Simmons), Axl Hutras; "Mega" Propapou to Irelee, Olivia, Cohen, Dora, Thomas, Leo, Hampton, Graham and Blair.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Aleksandr Hutras; great-grandson, James Sherer; and his siblings, Opal Chaudrue, Louis Hutras, William Hutras, Harry Hutras, Marijane Judy, and Alex Hutras.
