Dr. Thomas Foley Kabisch, DO, MDh - Beloved physician, father, brother, and friend passed away suddenly Monday, May 27, 2024. Dr. Kabisch opened his Integrated Medical office in Ann Arbor on E. Stadium in 1993. His dedication to his patients and family was without limits and he cared for all who were in need. Dr. Kabisch's beautiful mind, eidetic memory, and passion for research, blessed him with a vast knowledge of the healing arts.
He was born March 6, 1951 in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Mary Lou (Nardi) Kabisch and Thomas Alfred Kabisch. He was raised in Riverview, Michigan and attended St. Cyprian Catholic School, Gabriel Richard High School (1969), and Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Kabisch was a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (1993) and held degrees in many holistic healing arts. He was born and raised a Roman Catholic and was a member of Christ the King where he was a perpetual adoration chapel attendant, Mondays 1:00 am to 3:00, for over 10 years and a 4th of degree member of the Cardinal O'Hara Assembly of Knights of Columbus.
Tom was a motorcyclist throughout his life, owning many classic motorcycles, and was delighted with his current Indian motorcycle. He loved life fully and shared his love of old movies, vintage ties, flying planes and fixing everything from cars and clocks to craniums. He was a distinguished dresser and recognized by his Fedora or Panama straw hat.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Calagias Kabisch; son, Nathanial (Leilani Benatovich) Kabisch; daughters, Yasamina (Dimitrias Lekkos) Kabisch and Telana (Ignacio Diaz) Kabisch; sisters, Denise (Kerry Flynn) Kabisch and Mary Karen (Ed) McClellan; nieces, Katharine (Joe) Wilkinson and Elisa (Devin) Collingridge; and great nieces and nephews, Eloise, Lawson, Dominic and Gianna. All love him dearly.

Doctor K treated me for prostate cancer. During that time, he talked to me about alternative medicine and the things I needed to know about good health. I got a great education from him on those issues. He was the guy I went to for second opinions when I was not satisfied with the main stream doc's explanations of various treatments. He'll be missed.

Dr. K. was the most caring health professional I ever knew, but I considered him a good friend. I was one of his first patients, and saw him just before he passed away. Today, I stopped by to tell him about a referral I made, this morning, and left him a note; I was alarmed to see the office in a state of obvious closure. I searched the Internet for his new location, finding his obit, instead; I've been walking around in shock, all afternoon. I wanted to tell him how much the book is helping me, "The End of Alzheimer's," which he recommended only a few weeks ago. Now I want his family to know, that Dr. Tom Kabisch saved my life several times, and restored several of my loved ones to health, as well. I don't know how I'll do without him, as he was my go-to when allopathic medicine failed me...for more than a quarter century. Affable, jovial, with always a positive remark, he was a generous spirit, and I will forever remember him.

Tom was my brother-in-law and I only just heard. This is very sad. He was very loved and an excellent Dad, brother and Doctor. He was a devout Christian and I know his memory will be eternal.

Dr. Kabisch was my favorite doctor. He helped me continue to choose sobriety. He was kind and selfless. I was shocked and saddened when I called to check my appointment time today & heard the news. He deserved more time on earth, he helped a lot of people have so many positive experiences. I will miss all his cool collectibles that he filled his office with.
I will think of him often & smile.

Dr. K. was an inspiration. Jovial, caring, knowledgeable. It's hard to believe he's gone. He seemed larger than life in so many ways. Sympathy to his family, friends, patients and all who knew him. With love and gratitude, Barbara and Larry

Dr. K at an event with our client, note the rabbit ears, our family favorite pic of a joke. We will miss Tom immensely.

Oh my. As many know I had a long & interesting relationship with Tom & Mary, since the late 80's. We have many friends in common. His body work was gifted, we worked together for a while & drifted apart. When I told my son Kenneth that he was gone, "He was a big part of our life for a while". An understatement for sure, he had a passion for Edison's inventions. After I agreed to rent office space from him he took me to lunch, which I found was an excuse to go to a 'collection-book shop' to see what new relic he could find & listen to whatever family recollections I could come up with concerning Thomas. May you stay in a state of grace where you will continue to bless us with your spirit.

We are neighbors to his practice and will certainly miss seeing him out for a daily stroll or cruising in on his motorcycle always with a smile on his face. Our hearts ache for his friends, family and patients.

Dr. Kabisch has been a caring physician for me and my family since the late 90´s. He helped me with so many health issues. As a man of faith, he once said pray when I was afraid to have a needle in my spine. He loved to talk about the Lord and his Catholic faith. He was so amazing with my cancer last year. He was able to perform most of the alternative treatments they do at Oasis of Hope in Mexico and that was a great blessing. I will miss Dr. Kabisch, a dear friend, brother in the Lord. Peggy White
