Thomas Theodore Kight was born on May 21, 1949, in Morgantown, WV, and passed away on January 13, 2026, in Westminster, MD.
He attended Charlotte Hall Military Academy and then went on to earn his B.A. in Business from Towson University. He was an integral part of Kight's Insurance Agency, working side by side with his father, Thomas D. Kight, until 1981. Endeavoring out on his own, he purchased an insurance agency in Westminster and continued a successful business throughout his remaining years.
Tom always loved the outdoors. He was an excellent skier and kayaker, logging many hours in both, and always looking forward to the changing seasons for the next adventure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas D. and Nancy Kight. He is survived by his son, Thomas Payson Kight; sister Deborah Kight Hinebaugh (Harry "Bud"); brother Frank Kight (Susanne); and several nieces and nephews.
As he leaves us now, we shall always remember Tom with his easy smile, strong faith, peaceful nature, and deep friendships.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5:30 to 7 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11 AM in St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Rev. Carrie Hoff officiating. A private interment will follow in the Aurora Cemetery.
