Thomas "Tom" Klucznik
Thomas "Tom" Klucznik, age 75, passed away on February 10, 2023 after a long battle of health problems. He was a tremendous fighter and never gave up, until he was called home to his eternal resting place.
Tom had just celebrated his 75th birthday (2 days earlier) surrounded by his loving wife (Marcy), daughters, grandchildren and his beloved dog, Bingo! It was a wonderful celebration! They will cherish these memories forever.
Tom was born in Chicago and was an only child. He attended Gordon Tech High School, where he was a talented football player, and then DePaul University, majoring in business. He married the love of his life, Marcy, on February 15, 1969. They spent 54 wonderful years together supporting each other always, through the good times and the bad. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters and seven grandchildren. Tom was an excellent sales/businessman and was dedicated to his work.
Tom and Marcy loved living out in the country, across the street from Marcy's parents. They enjoyed racing horses and farm life. Tom could spend hours outside on his beloved tractor mowing the grass. He was a dedicated family man and loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He loved to watch the Chicago Bears on Sundays, surrounded by his family. Tom and Marcy were also fortunate to travel to many places together and created many wonderful memories. He will be missed immensely. In his retirement years, Tom became an Elburn Lions Club member. He volunteered his time for events and could be found playing Bingo on Friday nights down at the club!
Tom is survived by his loving, wife Marcy of Sugar Grove IL, his three daughters, Ann Marie (Frank) Downey of Batavia, IL, Susan (Robert) Thomas of Sugar Grove, IL, and Charlene (Andy Petrak) Klucznik of Carol Stream, IL; and seven grandchildren, James, Thomas and Christopher Downey of Batavia, IL, Holly (Bryce) Aitken of Tiffin, IA, Faith Thomas of Sugar Grove, IL, and Kaitlyn and Alexi Walker of Carol Stream, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. Klucznik, Sr. and Virginia Klucznik.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 12 PM to 6 PM at The Healy Chapel Sugar Grove, 370 Divsion Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Tom's funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S055 Dugan Rd., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. An hour of visitation at church will precede the Mass. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva, IL.
