Thomas Koenigs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zacherl Funeral Home - Fond du Lac on Jan. 27, 2023.
In loving memory of our dearest Thomas Joray Koenigs,16, of Mount Calvary. He was known to most as Tommy and was also referred to as Squishy by those closest to him, especially by his Mom.
Tommy was brought into this world on August 16, 2006 in Fond du Lac, WI to his loving parents Craig and Kari Koenigs and two amazing older brothers, Tony and JT. He attended St. Mary's Springs Academy as a sophomore in high school. Tommy was graciously accepted into heaven on January 23, 2023.
Tommy was always full of life and will forever be remembered for his loving heart, affectionate smile, beautiful brown eyes, and of course, his remarkable head of hair. Always charismatic and quick witted, he gave those near him reason to smile and laugh. He was an incredible friend to all around him, protective and standing up for what's right, even for those he may not have known.
More than anything, Tommy loved all sports. He was athletically gifted, and he had big plans to continue with sports after high school. Throughout the years he played on numerous baseball, hockey, and football teams. He was on the Green Bay Junior Gamblers hockey team and together they were honored to be the first Wisconsin team to be invited to the Pee Wee Major World Hockey Tournament in Quebec. He was lucky to travel to numerous cities around the country doing what he loved most.
Tommy will continue to put a smile on everyone's faces with all the incredible stories in the journey he had on earth in such a short time that he was with us. His legacy will live on in those that he will save with giving a gift of life through organ donation. His heart will continue to beat, his lungs will continue to breathe, and he will no doubt be someone's miracle. He will do what he does best Always helping others, especially those that need it the most.
Tommy is survived by his loving parents, Craig and Kari Koenigs, siblings, Tony and JT, and grandparents, Tom and Sue Hardell and Jack Koenigs, a.k.a. "Grandpa Uber." He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and Kate who will forever feel the space left empty and will continue to spread his memory and joy to all those around.
He is preceded in death by Grandma Mary Koenigs and his Uncle Michael Geniesse (Godfather). Tommy is also preceded in death by his long-time best friend, Nevins Zoch.
Thank you goes out to all the incredible doctors, nurses, friends, members of the community, and family who have helped Tommy and the Koenigs family through the beginning of this terribly difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted at the Thomas "Tommy" Koenigs Family Memorial Fund, at National Exchange Bank and Trust in Fond du Lac, WI. There is also a GoFundMe being set up.
The Koenigs family invites relatives and friends for a time of visitation for Tommy at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 4:00 p.m.

To The Koenigs Family.
Words can not express how you feel. But knowing Tommy is looking down, and smiling. If you ever need anything, you know I've got you, mama kari & Craig, JT & Anthony.
