We all have a calendar and Tom's calendar ran out of days on the morning of Sept. 10, 2025. Thomas 'Tom' Gordan Lamoree was born in New Castle April 11, 1939.

He was the son of Helen and Robert Lamoree.

Of the many things that can be said of Tom, nothing is more notable than the 'love of his life' Elaine McQuiston Lamoree (1939 - 2020). They met when they were fourteen, they never dated anyone else, and they were married in 1958.

Tom was blessed with a good sense of humor, a hearty laugh, and strong opinions. He was a 'meat & potato' fancier, a neat-nick, and fiscally very conservative. He had his father's passion for hunting. He loved golf, good friends, the Steelers, and his dogs.

After graduating from NCHS he served four years in the USAF with tours in Oklahoma, Illinois, and Alaska. When Tom and Elaine returned to New Castle, he worked for the Lawrence Savings & Trust and First National Bank - retiring as a trust officer. Tom was a member of the NCCC, the Lawrence Club, and 'the Brittany Club,' where he ran his dogs and hunted.

Tom and Elaine had two sons, Thomas 'Tommy' and Todd. Tommy, wife Kim and grandchildren Haley and Hunter, live in Houston. Todd and daughter, McKenzi, live in New Castle. A brother, Robert 'Bob' and wife Margaret live in Richmond.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, where online condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.cunninghamfh.com.
