It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our superstar husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend Thomas G. Larkin on May 23, 2025.
Tom was born in Queens, NY on December 26, 1960. His parents, Thomas and Marcella contemplated naming him Noel if he was born on Christmas, but he was ultimately named Thomas after his dad and many generations of Thomases before him.
Tom had many adventures as a young man, and he regaled us with many stories of his life and times growing up in Woodside, Queens. At 17, he started his Wall Street career working in the mail room at Morgan Stanley. A few years later, he catapulted to work as a stock trader at multiple major NY hedge funds. He was well respected and known to be tough and brutally honest. He had no problem talking to anyone regardless of their stature.
Tom and Mary married in 1991 and shortly thereafter Tom's new life began as a born again Christian. He boldly shared his faith and eventually became involved in the missions program of their church. His time in Zambia with street kids and the Toba Indians in Argentina had a profound impact on him. He loved every minute of service to those in need and it became his lifelong desire.
Tom was larger than life to all that knew him. He was funny, generous to a fault, loving, stubborn, and very smart. He loved to battle wits with anyone willing, and won 99% of the time (or so he thought!). He lived life in the fast lane, enjoying Ferraris, his Ducati motorcycle, and playing his multiple guitars. He loved a good slice of pizza, and he loved animals, especially his beloved dog Travis who I am sure he is hanging with now! But most of all, Tom loved spending time with his family.
Tom has left behind his loving wife Mary, their four children Molly, Tommy, Sarah, and Caleb, and daughter in law Cristina. His sisters Geraldine, Terri, and Marcie and their spouses, along with his nephews Chris, Brian, Timmy, Will, and Matt, and grand niece and nephew Kinsley and Caden, as well as many other family and friends.
His Visitation will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 5PM to 8PM with a Celebration of Life at 7PM. Interment will be private.
