Thomas W. Laughlin

Thomas W. Laughlin, age 77, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan, KS. He was born on October 1, 1947, to his parents, Clark and Alma (Amelung) Laughlin, in Kansas City, KS.
Thomas married Evelyn (Moody) Laughlin on August 14, 1971, in Leonardville, KS. After having lived where the Air Force sent him during his 20-year carrer, (Michigan, Vietnam, North Dakota, Missouri, Germany, England, New Jersey) and a first systems analyst job in Illinois, they resided in Papillion, NE, before making their home in Manhattan in 2015, when they both retired.
Thomas held Bachelor's Degrees in computer networking from McKendree University and another from Bellevue University. He and Evelyn were K-State season ticket holders and enjoyed going to watch basketball, volleyball and baseball. He also enjoyed volunteering at golf tournaments where he would help with organizing, scheduling, and training the walking scorers.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two sisters, Kathy Bussey and Karen Laughlin, Kansas City, MO; one nephew; numerous cousins; and on his sister in law's side of the family, eight nephews and three nieces, and friends all who were very important in Tom's life.
He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Martha Laughlin.
A memorial service will take place at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at College Avenue United Methodist Church, Manhattan, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) or the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in care of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, KS 66502
