It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas F. Leet, who was born on November 17, 1941, in Rockford, Illinois, and passed away on July 23, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Thomas dedicated over 37 years of his life to shaping young leaders as a Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, leaving an impressionable mark on countless youths. His commitment to service extended to his country as well; he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Thomas served with distinction in the 1st Infantry Division, known as "Big Red One," working in ordinance. His service was recognized with the Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, honorable discharge and Marksmanship Medal for the M-14 rifle.

Beyond his professional and military life, Thomas was an avid historian, always eager to explore the depths of the past. He was also a devout member of the Catholic faith and attended St. Mark's Catholic Church.

Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles S. and Lucille M. Leet, and his brother, John Leet.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Chloe A. Leet, whom he married on August 11, 1979, in Beatrice, Nebraska. He leaves behind his daughter, Dawn R. Leet of Manchester, Tennessee and son, Steven and his wife Debbie Leet of Manchester, Tennessee; his cherished grandchildren, Nick LoPresto, Madison and Ray Hoxsie, Connor and Hannah Beth Leet of Dixon, Tennessee, Christian Leet of Manchester, Tennessee, James and his wife Jill Leet of Manchester, Tennessee, and Jude Leet of Manchester, Tennessee. Thomas is also survived by his sister, Judy Carrier (William), and his sister-in-law, Sheila Leet.

A Catholic Mass and Military Burial will be held at a later date to honor Thomas's life and service. Manchester Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time. Mass and burial dates and times will be announced on this website.
