Alvin Cloys Wells, 89, of Manchester, TN, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.

He was born on September 17th, 1936. He was a long time resident of the Mt. Zion community. He then moved to the Summitville area were he finished out his career as a trucker. He was a long-time member of Forrest Mill Baptist Church.

Cloys was known for his incredible wit and his tireless work ethic. For 30 years, he worked as a dedicated dairy farmer. After his farming career, he successfully transitioned to being a self-employed professional, establishing and operating his own company, A&B Trucking. After retirement he developed the hobby of lawn mower repair man. One of his favorite things was getting together with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was known by many children as the bubble gum man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lela Wells; his beloved wife, Clara Beatrice Wells; his brothers, Raymond, Charles, and Michael Wells; and his sisters, Inez Jones, and Imogene Allison.

Alvin is survived by his three loving sons: Al (Dee) Wells, Don (Lynn) Wells, and Dexter (Lisa) Wells. He also leaves behind his brother Howard Wells and his sister Ruth Ann Callahan. Also his sister-in-laws Anne, Gail, and Wanda Wells. His legacy lives on through his 6 grandchildren and their spouses. Along with 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Manchester Funeral Home in Manchester, TN, on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will immediately following at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Brother John Daniels and Clayton Jones will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Willie Crawley, Tom McColloch, Donnie Burton, Don Wells, Greg Brooks, and Billy Wright.
