Thomas Maczko Obituary

Thomas Andrew Maczko, 80, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025. Born in West Virginia on August 30, 1944, Thomas was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose work ethic and sharp mind left a lasting impact on those around him.
Thomas served proudly in the United States Navy and later spent over 30 years as a scientist and paper tester at Garden State Printing in New Jersey. A true workaholic, he took pride in precision and innovation in everything he did. He lived for many years in Wyckoff, NJ before moving to Virginia in 2018 to be closer to family.
He was a proud member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Parish and found joy in life's simple pleasures-scratching off lottery tickets, tinkering with gadgets, and tending to his garden.
Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Maczko; together, they shared a loving marriage that would have marked 56 years this year. He is survived by his son, Thomas William Maczko and wife Donna Maczk, his daughter Kathleen Bernadette. He was a proud grandfather to Sophia, Tyler, Liliana, Noelle, Sebastian, and Austin.
He also leaves behind his brothers, John and Joe Maczko; sister-in-law, Dotsy, and her husband Ernie; nephews Jimmy, Ernie, Steven, and Willie; niece Kelly; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss his wit, wisdom, and generous heart.
