Obituary published on Legacy.com by Countryside Funeral Home - Three Bridges on Sep. 5, 2024.
Thomas Anthony Maiore, 86, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the cherished son of the late Anthony and Julia (nee Jackus) Maiore. After spending 30 years in Linden, NJ, Thomas and his beloved wife, Mary Ann, made Flemington their home since 2017.
Tom was a proud veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Army. His time in the service was a reflection of the dedication, strength, and loyalty that defined him throughout his life.
For over 25 years, Tom worked as a skilled carpenter with Carpenters Union #715 Local of Elizabeth, where his craftsmanship and work ethic earned him great respect. He was also a devout Catholic and devoted parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in
Three Bridges, NJ, where his warmth and generosity was notable. Known for his gentle spirit and kindness, Tom had a unique way of making people feel cared for, often with the simplest gestures-like offering a cough drop to someone in need. His presence touched many lives, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed playing poker, watching horse racing, and cheering for his beloved Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. But above all, he was a man of kindness and quiet strength, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Tom was predeceased by his two brothers, Robert Maiore and Joseph Maiore, who he now joins in eternal rest. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (nee Simpson) Maiore, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories since their marriage on November 9, 1963. He is also survived by his loving daughter, Tami M., and her spouse James Carten, with whom he lived; his dear brother, Anthony J. Maiore, and his spouse, Patricia; his dear sister, Christine Nichol, and her spouse, Wayne; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Maiore and Pamela Maiore. His legacy of love continues through his cherished grandchildren, Alexa Marie Carten and Justin Thomas Carten.
Tom's kindness, loyalty, and gentle soul will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. Tom appreciated his family and friends and always had kind words to share to brighten someone's day.
