Thomas McArdle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City on Oct. 8, 2025.
Thomas William McArdle, 73, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
He was born on August 6, 1952, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of William Bernard and Mary Eileen (McGuire) McArdle, who preceded him in death.
Thomas was married to the love of his life, Jacquelyn (DeJonge) McArdle on February 20, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois, they shared 54 beautiful years together.
Tom worked as a Truck Owner/Operator for Atlas Van Lines for over 50 years before retiring in 2023. Over those years, he logged almost two million miles on the road.
Thomas loved antique cars and trucks especially his Fords. He enjoyed many car shows over his years and won several awards for his own vehicles. He has a passion for music and would often share songs with family and friends that he thought were special. He was fortunate enough to travel America with his job and make friends wherever he went. He truly enjoyed the little things in life, photographing, sunsets and mountain views over the road, phone calls with his friends and family, playing with his dogs, and a good joke.
He retired to Missouri with his wife in 2022, they quickly fell in love with the city and state, and named their home here "Forever After".
He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn; three daughters, Jennifer Kruse (Robert), Erin McArdle, and Kate McArdle (Bernard Mulady); sister, Linda McArdle; grandchildren, Emily Ruck (Adam), Brandon Kruse, Kayla Kruse (Andy), Elizabeth Kruse, Thomas Kruse (Rebecca), Matthew McArdle (Anna Marie), Frantisek Kroupa and Sterling Mullady; and great-grandchildren, Jaxon Ruck, Andilynn Ruck, and Malcolm McArdle.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anne Gassmann and Kathleen McArdle; brother, Michael McArdle; nephew, Sean Tetesco; niece, Courtney McArdle; and brother-in-law, Ed Gassmann and many other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Illinois at a later date.
