Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. - LancasterThomas S. “Tom” “Quag Meier” Meier, age 61, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on May 14, 1964, in Prairie du Chien, the son of LaVerne and Norma (Myers) Meier. Tom graduated from Cassville High School in 1982. He furthered his education at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore where he earned a degree in auto mechanics. Tom moved to Madison and worked as an auto mechanic and later, in 2013, moved back to Lancaster. He worked as an over the road truck driver and finished his working career at Saputo. Tom enjoyed riding his motorcycle and would often take spontaneous trips hundreds of miles away. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Green Bay Packers. Tom dearly loved spending time with his siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was always willing to lend a hand and always had a smile and a positive outlook. Tom will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his siblings: Gary (Barb) Meier, Deforest, Mark (Kathleen) Meier, Asbury, IA, Mike (Cheryl) Meier, Beetown, Sheila (Randy) Hook, Phillips, Jan (Ken) Breuer, Lancaster, Kim (Randy) Wallin, Lancaster, Tony (Janell) Meier, Glen Haven; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his stepmother, Shirley; a brother, David; and a nephew, Chris Meier.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of plants and flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in memory of Tom to the Glen Haven Fire Department, Lancaster Rescue Squad and/or Biolife. All those in attendance are asked to wear your favorite sports team attire.
