Thomas Midyette Obituary
Thomas led a vibrant and fulfilling life, filled with the warmth of family, dedication to work, and a love for simple joys. His professional journey saw him as a proud member of the team at WITN, where his commitment and work ethic left an indelible mark. Outside of his career, Thomas found happiness in spending time with his family, grilling, mowing, gardening, and spending precious moments with his beloved dog, Snowball.
A man of faith, Thomas was an active member of Five Points FWB Church, where he found community and strength. His service to the nation as a member of the Air Force exemplified his dedication and patriotism, leaving a lasting legacy of honor and courage.
Thomas was preceded in death by his brother Roger Midyette, his sisters Mavis Paul, and Mildred Woolard, as well as his father Kermit Midyette and mother Iona Midyette.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara, who stood by his side through every moment for 38 years of marriage. He leaves behind four sisters: Arlene Midyette, Ola (Preston) Alligood, Justine (Russell) Bullock, and Gayle (Teddy) Griekspoor; two daughters: Crystal (Jason) Faulkner and Pamela (Billy) Van Effen; and a cherished granddaughter, Hannah Corey. Thomas's legacy also lives on through his three brothers: James Midyette, Merlon (Becky) Midyette, and Robert (Debbie) Midyette; his grandson Austin (Michaela) Meigs; and two great-grandsons, Jordan Meigs and Aiden Meigs.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
In times of quiet reflection, let us remember Thomas's unwavering dedication to his family, his tireless work ethic, and his joy in the simple pleasures of life. His memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know him.
