Thomas Raymond Minihan, 87, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Tom was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on February 2, 1937 to Edward Patrick Minihan and Lona (Duncan) Minihan. He grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma and graduated from Seminole High School. He moved to Midland, Texas where he spent 51 years. During this time, he started his businesses, Minihan Oil & Gas & Star Drilling. Tom moved back to Seminole during his retirement years.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, traveling, OU football games, but what he loved the most was spending time with his family. His quick wit and ability to make people laugh brought smiles to everyone around him. He served 6 months of active duty and 7 years in active reserves in the United States Army. In January 1960, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
Tom married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Mary Janette (Farrar) Minihan on June 1, 1956 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. They spent 68 wonderful years together.
Tom is survived by his beautiful wife, Mary Janette Minihan of Seminole, Oklahoma, two sons; Tommy Minihan and his wife Gena of Midland, Texas and David Minihan and his wife Lisa of Edmond, Oklahoma, two daughters; Sheryl Minihan and Jana Garcia and her husband Raul Garcia of Seminole, Oklahoma, his grandchildren; Jason Rich and his wife Brooke, Justin Rich and his wife Emily, Johnny Rich and his wife Mary, Shannon Scalzo and her husband Steve, Thomas Minihan and his wife Triston, Daniel Minihan and his wife Kirstie, Brady Minihan and Avery, Aspen Minihan, Chloe Minihan, Christopher Minihan and Christina Minihan, his great grandchildren; Conner Rich, Trinity Rich, Luke Rich, Ann Marie Rich, Caroline Rich, John Thomas Rich, Emma Rich, Allison Rich, Charlotte Rich, Jacob Scalzo, Maya Scalzo, Gracie Scalzo, Hudson Scalzo, Camden Minihan, Dayton Minihan, Bayleigh Minihan, Bentley Minihan and Addilyn Minihan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Lona and Edward Minihan, brother; Jerry Minihan, sister; Patsy and sister-in-law; Delores Minihan.
The Rosary service is planned for 7:00 P.M., Friday May 10, 2024 and the Funeral Mass service will be at 9:30 A.M., Saturday, May 11, 2024. Both services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wrangler Blvd. in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Mandagiri Balaswamy officiating. The burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. The viewing will be held all day Friday, May 10, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

I´m so very sorry to hear of Tom´s passing. He was a dear friend, mentor and business associate to me. He always had time to listen and loved to talk. He was a true wildcatter in the Permian´s Basin. May God bless his soul.
