Thomas William Morgan

Thomas William Morgan, 69 of Hendersonville passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at The Greens at Hendersonville. He was born April 19, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of William C. Morgan and Mary A. Toole. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Timothy L. Morgan. He is survived by cousins Shirley Swickard of Tavares, FL; Sara Rowell of Valparaiso, IN; and Russ Luby of Indianapolis, IN, as well as many loving friends.
He was raised in Anaheim, CA, and graduated with a BA from Cal State Fullerton. Growing up in southern California, he cultivated a lifelong love of baseball and was a dedicated fan of the Los Angeles Angels.
Tom was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, NC where he volunteered in the visitation ministry and worship ministry and where he was a committed participant in discipleship and Bible studies. Tom also was a steadfast champion for Hendersonville's Storehouse ministry, a Christ-centered ministry providing food and life's most basic necessities for those in need in Henderson County, NC. He especially loved volunteering for the Blessings in Boxes ministry which sponsors local children and families at Christmas. Tom will be recognized posthumously as a hometown hero by WHKP in February.
A memorial service is being held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1245 6th Avenue West, Hendersonville, NC 28739 on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. A reception hosted by the Storehouse will follow from 2-4 p.m. Please bring canned goods for donation in Tom's memory.
