Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sweet's Funeral Home on Dec. 5, 2024.
Thomas C Morrison, 57, passed away of natural causes on November 30, 2024 at his home in Pleasant Valley, New York. He was born to Thomas and Donna Seaver Morrison on September 16, 1967. He attended school in the Arlington School District. He moved to Germany with his family for his Junior and Senior year of high school. He graduated from Patch High School in Stuttgart, Germany in 1986.
When Tom was little, he was quick as a whip taking off from his parents on several occasions, so his parents saw his athleticism at an early age. He enjoyed playing baseball, soccer, and basketball when he was young. Growing up Tom would find himself involved in many shenanigans and mischievous activities. He had a spirited and undoubtedly humorous childhood.
After graduating high school, Tom became a skilled chef in the restaurant business and was great at it. He could take a few ingredients and make a tasty meal. He continued to cook throughout his life and made the best meatballs, which were always requested at celebrations.
Tom was employed as the Head of Grounds and Maintenance for the Town of Pleasant Valley. Tom recently retired from the Town after almost 25 years.
Tom loved watching football and baseball. His favorite teams being the New York Giants and the New York Mets. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing. An avid outdoorsman, he could often be found with a fishing rod or hunting rifle in hand, depending on the season. He approached nature with the same respect and humor that he did everything else – if the fish weren't biting or the deer were scarce, he often stated it was because his mother didn't want him there. He really enjoyed his time at his camper in Schoharie, New York where he would fish, relax, and spend time with good friends. His laughter was infectious, his company always a pleasure, and his absence will be deeply felt.
He was predeceased by his parents and his godparents George and Beverly Gordon. He is survived by his brother Michael Morrison (Jodi) Fort Collins, CO, sister Laura Morrison-Storey (Brad) Topeka, KS, nephews John and Joseph Morrison Fort Collins, CO; Uncle Michael (Diane) Seaver, Avon, Ohio; Uncle Ralph Hart (Dixie), Melbourne, Florida.
