John "Jack" Richard Bovee, 95, formerly of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at The Pines at Poughkeepsie Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Born September 8, 1930, in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late John Charles Bovee and Eda Russman Bovee.

Jack proudly served in the New York Army National Guard from 1949 to 1956.

He worked for IBM in East Fishkill for more than 25 years until his retirement. Prior to IBM, he worked for the former Allegheny Ludlum Steel Company in Pittsburgh, PA.

Jack's hobbies included golfing, riding motorcycles and photography. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping with his two sons at Lake George NY. He also enjoyed snow skiing; he even served on the ski patrol.

In 1989, he married the former Miriam Parletta. She predeceased him.

Survivors include his two sons, Richard C. Bovee and wife, Sharon, of Kingston, and Brian M. Bovee and wife, Brenda, of Poughkeepsie; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his older sister, Betty Peer, and younger brother, George Bovee.

Cremation has taken place. No Funeral services will be held. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
