Thomas D. Moye Jr.

Thomas D. Moye Jr. age 92, Lifelong resident of Wilburton, Oklahoma. Passed from this life on November 15th 2024 in Tulsa, Ok, at St John Hospital.
Thomas always known as Junior to family and friends, was born to Tommy and Dora Moye, May 13, 1932 in Valliant, Oklahoma. As a young man living with his family in Buffalo Valley, Oklahoma. Moving with his family to, and residing in Wilburton, Oklahoma attending school and 4-H club, and working on their farm south of Wilburton, becoming a lifetime resident of Wilburton. He married Itha Holcomb of Wilburton on June, 27th 1953. To this union was born two sons. Stephen Moye in 1958, and Darryl Leon Moye in 1963 the younger son passing in infancy at the age of 9 months due to a severe illness. Before marriage he held many jobs After marriage he worked for the Latimer County Soil Conservation Dept. for 13 years, Kiamichi Electric Co-op of Wilburton staking lines for 3 years. In the early 1970's he started his own custom hay baling business and cattle trucking business working for many years in the Wilburton area as well as making a living operating a beef cattle operation on his ranch south of Wilburton in the Hulsey Prairie Community. He was a jack of all trades, rancher, hunter, equipment operator, welder, carpenter, painter, fence builder, you name it he could do it. He also loved to hunt with his friends for many years as a hobby supplying our family with many good meals. Retiring in March 2021 at age 89.
He is preceded in death by: His Father, Tommy D. Moye and Mother, Dora (Scaggs) Moye, His loving wife, Itha, passed away in 1999. Son, Darryl Leon in 1963, Five Sisters, Ann, Nana, Toe-rue, Joyce, and Patsy and Five Brother- in- Laws. Many Aunts and Uncles, A Baby Great Granddaughter Alexis Moye, and many good friends of the surrounding community.
He is survived by: A Son, Stephen Moye and Wife Vickie of Wilburton, A Grandson, Jordan Moye and Partner Amy Farar, Great Grandsons Xander Moye and Daniel and Devin Farar of Stigler, Oklahoma. A Granddaughter Dreanna Moye and Partner Michael McDaniels and Great Grandson Damien Gomez, of Whitefield, Oklahoma, and, Ex-Daughter In Law, Karen Elmore of Whitefield, Oklahoma. A Brother, Doug Moye and Wife Loretta of Wright City, Oklahoma. Brother- in- Law, Cecil Wayne Holcomb, of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Many, loved nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews and cousins. And many friends in the Wilburton area and Latimer County.
Pall bearers will be:Brent Wilson, Damien Gomez, Eric Francis, Jason Brown, Jordan Moye, and Michael McDaniels.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be:Doug Moye, Cecil Wayne Holcomb, Gary Francis, Tim Francis, Dewayne Mote, Joe Mac McAlester, Vernon Reed, and Rick Grapentine.
Burial will be at Centerpoint Cemetery in Wilburton, Ok.
