Thomas L. Mulcahy, Age 65 of Rochester Hills. Loving husband of Christine. Dear father of Thomas, Timothy (Cassi), Molly (Fiance Patrick), and Bridget. Devoted grandpa of Miles, Eli, and Josie. Brother of Sean, Marty (Nancy), Christine (Donald), and the late Mary.
Tom Mulcahy was born in Detroit, MI. He was the second oldest of five children to Tom and Ann Mulcahy. He grew up in Livonia, MI and attended St. Michael's. After completing elementary school, he was set to attend Bishop Borgess High School in Redford, MI. However, his Dad, who worked at Ford Motor Company, was transferred to Spain. Tom attended the American School of London and Notre Dame International for his highschool years. Upon completing high school, his family moved back to Dearborn and shortly thereafter his parents built a house in West Bloomfield. For college, Tom enrolled at The University of Detroit for his first 2 years of studying. In his second year at U of D, he met his future wife, Christine Kilcullen. Little did Chris know, Tom had applied to the University of Notre Dame and got accepted. Tom spent his last two years of his undergrad in South Bend and completed his bachelor's degree in liberal arts. Finally, he went on to get his law degree and Masters of Religious Studies at U of D.
Tom and Chris got married in 1984 and went on to have 4 children (Thomas, Tim, Molly, Bridget). After 5 years in Clawson, they moved to Rochester Hills where they have spent the last 34 years. He was heavily involved in many activities. Tom was a member of the Knights of Equity, taught Catechism to 7th graders, wrote a blog called catholicstrength.com and was involved with multiple Catholic groups including men's groups and marriage prep classes.Upon retiring from his law firm Mindell, Panzer, Mulcahy and Malin, Tom put his complete focus on his family and eventually his 3 beautiful grandchildren. Over the last 4 years, he spent the majority of his free time taking care of his grandchildren (Miles, Eli, Josie).
He will be remembered most as the man who loved his faith and family. He will be greatly missed by so many people in so many different circles. May God always shine his radiant light upon him.
Following Tom's mass and burial, there will be a 1 p.m. memorial luncheon at the Rochester Mills in downtown Rochester.
