Thomas F. O'Dougherty, 62, of Summit, NJ passed away on October 31, 2023. Visiting hours at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham will be on Sunday, November 5 from 4 to 8pm with family remembrances at 6pm. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home on Monday, November 6 at 10am followed by an entombment at St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, the son of Daniel and Winifred (Ahlstrom) O'Dougherty, Tom was a graduate of the LaSalle Academy in Manhattan. He had also lived in various locations including Madison and Morris Plains before moving to Summit two years ago. Tom received both his bachelor's in accounting and master's in finance from Pace University. He worked as a CPA at various financial institutions before joining the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2005 where he was currently Assistant Regional Director of Operations. Tom had a passion for fitness and exercise and was part owner of CrossFit KOA in Cranford from 2010 to 2016. A member of AICPA, he enjoyed traveling (especially on cruises) and gardening.
Tom was the beloved husband of 33 years to Lisa. He was the loving father of Kyle O'Dougherty, Kristen Rivera (Carlos) and Megan O'Dougherty. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Lucas and Theodore Rivera, his dear siblings Danny (Cathy), Vickie (Leila), Peter (Diane), Jean (Jim), and David (Susan) and three predeceased brothers Timothy, Mark & John.
