A celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date.
Tom was born March 14, 1948, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Robert and Lillian (Bailey) Owens. He was a 1966 graduate of Piper High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1966 where he served until 1972, He worked for U-Haul for 38 years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Michael Owens, and Jim Owens.
Survivors include; one son, Scott (Heather Smith) Owens, Tonganoxie; two brothers, Robert Owens Jr., Leavenworth, KS, David Owens, Easton, KS; two sisters, Ruth Bucher, Leavenworth, KS, Linda Griffith, Basehor, KS; Grandchildren, Mallory (Austin) Ratliff, Jake Owens, Devan Smith (Shelby Singleton), and Josh Owens; Great grandchildren, Benson Owens, Kal Ratliff, and Ava Owens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in his name to the Tonganoxie VFW Post #9271.
