Doris May Mogle, 94, a lifetime Kansas City, Kan. (Piper) area resident, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., both at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
Doris was born March 25, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan., one of four children born to Charles R. (Sr.) & Eva (Blankenship) Wise. She grew up in Piper, graduating from Piper High School in 1948. She married the love of her life, Billie D. Mogle, on Sept. 18, 1949. Together they made their home in Piper, where they raised their son, William D. (Bill) Mogle. In the past Doris was active with the Piper Prairie Township Volunteer Fire Dept. and Haven Baptist Church. She also enjoyed embroidering quilts and made a mean strawberry pie and spicy dill pickles. Doris also cherished time spent with her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her three brothers, Charles, Bob and Gary Wise; son William D. Mogle; and her husband, Billie D. Mogle.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mary Mogle of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Brandy Ernzen (Nick) of Lawrence, and Ryan Mogle (Megan) of Basehor; three great-grandchildren, Garrett Ernzen, Maelee Mogle and Blake Mogle; and extended family and friends.
