Thomas Pankey Obituary
Tom was born in Gideon, Missouri. After his family moved to Michigan, he attended school at Baker Jr. High & Troy High School. Baker was of course where Tom met his late wife of 52 years, Ruthie. After graduating high school, he went on to earn his Master's degree with additional credit hours from Wayne State University in education. His career spanned an incredible 38 years, all as an English teacher at Clawson Middle School. To say this man loved his job would be a monumental understatement.
Beloved father of Tammy Gruzwalski (Ron) & maybe Robin Ritchie. Cherished grandfather of Shannon Daniels (Dontae King), Ashley Vallone (Louis), Haley Vanderpool (Cole), Tyler Ritchie (Haylie), Tori Gruzwalski (Dustin Walford), Ryenne Ritchie (Nicholas Roman) & Mckenzie Gruzwalski (Joshua Catanzaro). Devoted great-grandfather of Makayla Freeman, Maya Tompor, Colt Vanderpool, Dominick & Paisley Walford and Luca Vallone. Brother of Robert Dale Pankey (the late Carole) and the late Katherine Helton.

Thomas was my Great grandpa. Me and him were so much alike and we enjoyed time together. I loved him so much with my everything and I will always love him. He shared Red Wings hockey to me and I loved it just like he did.
