Thomas Bryant Pearce, Jr., 72, of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1951, in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Thomas and Frances Pearce.
A dedicated family man, Bryant was a loving husband, son, brother, father, and granddaddy. He had a servant's heart, a strong work ethic, and delighted in time spent with family and friends. He had a passion for all sports, particularly as a lifelong Houston sports fan and Texas Longhorn fan. He played baseball for Jones High School in Houston where he graduated in 1969. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a B.B.A. in Accounting and later attaining his CPA license.
He had a successful career as an oil and gas accountant, working at Tenneco Oil Company, Swift Energy Company, and Penn Virginia Corporation. He was a dedicated member of Kingwood Methodist Church, serving as an usher for many years as well as participating in groups including the Wednesday Night Men's bible study, and Bible Study Fellowship.
Bryant loved to laugh, especially when engaging in witty banter and sarcastic humor with friends and loved ones. He had a passion for word games whether it was a daily crossword, a word jumble, Words with Friends, or the New York Times Wordle and Spelling Bee games. The joy of his life, though, was his family. He was never happier than when he was with his adoring grandchildren whether they were vacationing on the beaches of Gulf Shores, attending their many sporting events, music performances and other activities or just sitting on a porch in a swing or rocking chair together.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Bryant Pearce, Sr., and sister, Terry Ann Pearce.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Pearce; children Matthew Pearce and wife Drewann of Kingwood; Jenny Ormsby and husband Cam of Cape Carteret, North Carolina; Andrew Pearce and wife Maria of Houston; Lauren Espinoza and husband Arturo of Dallas; mother, Frances Pearce of Wichita Falls; sister, Cindy Judd and husband Alfred of Wichita Falls; grandchildren Ryland and Jackson Pearce, Pearce and Adeimy Ormsby, Thomas Pearce, Julian and Benjamin Espinoza; brothers-in-law Fred Uttenweiler and wife Caryn of Kingwood; Harold Mangham and wife Laurie of Kingwood; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday May 25 at 11:00 AM at Kingwood Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills Dr. Kingwood, TX 77339.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Society of St. Stephen, P.O. Box 6989, Kingwood, TX 77325.
Bryant will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of faith, family, love and hard work will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

I just learned of Bryant´s passing on to be with the Lord. It was a privilege and an honor to work with him at Swift Energy. As we talked, his love for his family was salient. I was blessed to see Bryant several years ago at SW Memorial Hospital as we both were visiting love ones. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of bereavement.
