Thomas Pine Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hillside Chapel, Inc. on Apr. 17, 2025.
Thomas Alan Pine
Tom passed away unexpectedly at home in February. He was born in Monroe, Louisiana on March 27, 1953 to Robert and Dorothy (Hiznay) Pine. Following his Dad's work in the United States Air Force, the family moved frequently before settling in Portland. He graduated from David Douglas High School in 1971 and made his career in security and law enforcement. He was warm and welcoming with a strong and unique sense of humor. He had a big heart and a protective nature.
Tom was friendly, selfless, compassionate, thoughtful, truthful and one of a kind. He found his peace and calm in the forest appreciating and experiencing nature, always embracing the outdoors and appreciating natural creations and beauty in every living thing. Tom dedicated his life to protecting and serving those he held dear and strangers alike. For any fears he may have experienced in the face of danger, they were always overshadowed by his dedication to protecting and serving "so that others may live", a motto he lived by always. As a natural protector, Tom had always maintained and prioritized safety above all. He was selfless, genuine and driven by acts of altruism, always there to offer a helping hand to those in need.
He is survived by brothers Robert, David, and Richard Pine; sister Mary Thornburgh; beloved bonus daughters Heather Bargender-Wavra, Erin Stipetich, and Sara Heisler; and grandchildren Travis, Chase, Mia, Hudson, and Crosby.
