Thomas Allen Ramey (76), a bilingual world adventurer and man of faith passed away peacefully at the Ernestine M. Raclin hospice house in Mishawaka, Indiana on June 5, 2025. Tom's energy, drive, and altruism led him to many successes in business and many deeply meaningful relationships with friends and family.
Tom was a proud American born a day before Independence Day on July 3, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Thomas Alcott and Pearl Elfrieda (Mueller) Ramey. He shared 53 years of marriage with the late JoAnne (Bonk) Ramey whom he loved deeply. Tom is survived by his son and his family, Jeffrey Thomas Ramey (44), wife Margaret, son Jake (13), and son Sam (11) and daughter and her family Jennifer Anne Benassi (41), husband Mike, daughter Natalie (10), and son Logan (6).
Tom's achievements included earning the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America, a bachelors of business administration from Valparaiso University, a masters of business administration from Marquette University, running multiple businesses as CEO, starting and selling his own business, and consulting while somehow being "retired". Despite his considerable work schedule, Tom still managed to dedicate himself to his church and his
community, caretaking for JoAnne, traveling internationally, and catching Packers games at Lambeau.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Clay Church 52866 N. Ironwood Rd., South Bend, IN 46635 with visitation commencing at 10:00 am until service starts at noon. To ease the burden of travel, the memorial service will also be live streamed at claychurch.com/live starting at noon. Online condolences may be left on Tom's obituary page at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
