Thomas Ernest Ray, 84, of Poland, Maine, passed away on September 21, 2025, in Lewiston, ME.
Tom was born in Boston, MA on June 22, 1941, son of the late Kenneth and Marjorie (Gray) Ray. Tom grew up in Arlington, MA, and raised his family in Littleton, MA. He retired to Poland, ME and Naples, FL. Tom was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather. His life was a tribute to the power of love, family, and a strong work ethic.
Tom graduated from Arlington High school in 1959. With immense dedication, he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northeastern University. He worked for Honeywell and Beth Isreal Hospital until becoming the third-generation owner of the family business, Ray Engineering Co. in 1978. He retired in 2006. Tom enjoyed reading, photography, gardening, and sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and Bruins. He was a 50+ year past master of Russell Masonic Lodge in Arlington, MA. Tom enjoyed spending time at his family camp on Thompson Lake, in Poland, Maine. Five generations of family have been able to enjoy the camp with Tom since he, his father, and brothers built it in 1957. If Tom wasn’t spending time at camp in the nice weather, you could find him golfing or fishing.

Tom has seven beloved grandchildren, Kayla Wielki (Craig), Kevin Larsen, Kellie Larsen, Edwin, Max, Gavin, and Rilyn, plus three adored great grandsons, Cole, Caden, and Cooper Wielki. He is also survived by his two brothers, John and James (Betty), and sister-in-law Janet Ray, as well as many nieces, nephews, and thoughtful friends.
