Thomas Paul Roberts was born October 26, 1958, to the late Edward and Ruby Roberts in Burlington, VT. Tom passed away peacefully April 28, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer.
His journey on this earth was one marked by love and unwavering faith in God. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and for the impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Tom was in the United States Air Force from 1977-1981 and retired from Vermont Army National Guard after many years of service. His favorite job was up on the mountain, making snow at Smuggler's Notch. He was an avid snowboarder and enjoyed teaching his granddaughters (Marley and Mckenna Roberts) his favorite hobby. Tom loved designing his own snowboards with the Gilson's team at their main facility, which took him on several trips to Pennsylvania and out west. Scuba diving was also one of his favorite pastimes.
Tom gave countless hours volunteering at several churches and helped develop a wood working program to help veterans with PTSD in Northfield, VT. He was a hardworking, generous man that put his friends and family before himself. His many skills were used to help others with everything from construction projects to mooring retrievals. He took pride in his work and always had the right tool or equipment to complete the job!
Toms's family wish to offer sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses on Miller 5, especially Jessica for their care and kindness.
He survived by his son Benjamin (Sarah Graves) Roberts, daughters Erika (Chris) Scott of Texas, Kyra Roberts of Texas, Kylee Roberts of Louisiana. Siblings David (Vicki) Roberts of Ohio, Melody (Greg) Diamontopulos of Virginia, Sally (Keith) Billado of Fairfax and Susan (Patrick) Wyrick of Pennsylvania. Several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He also leaves best friends Art (Judy) Harrington of Cambridge, Pastor Roland (Suzanne) from Fairfax, Jim (Deb) Muhlholland of Cambridge, and John Nute of CT. His beloved dog Sela will forever miss him.
There will be a celebration of life on May 18th from 1-4pm at the Colchester Recreation Center 80 Dick Mazza Drive in Colchester. A Military Ceremony will take place on May 19th at 1pm at the Randolph Military Veterans Cemetery, 487 Furnace Road in Randolph Center.
