Thomas Roegner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc. on Apr. 11, 2025.
Thomas Paul Roegner, 65, of Waymart, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at his home.
Born on January 15, 1960 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late William R. and Louise "Cookie" (Krol) Roegner. Tom was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1977 and later served in the US Army.
For 20 years, Tom was employed at SCI Waymart and retired in 2010. In his retirement, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, chopping firewood and spending time with his family. He was a one of a kind, who wasn't afraid to tell you how it is but would turn around and give you the shirt off his back. He was always willing to help a friend in need. Tom cared for no one more than his children and grandchildren. Not a day would go by where he did not check in on them. He also loved caring for his dogs and especially loved seeing his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Thomas F. Roegner and wife Santina of Waymart, Kaitlyn Roegner Kowalczyk and husband Trevor of Honesdale and Madisyn Roegner of Honesdale; his former wife and friend, Susan M. Weist Roegner; his brother, William Roegner Jr. of WV; grandchildren and the love of his life, Lucas Roegner, Elly Kowalczyk and Lincoln Roegner (due in June); his cousin and good friend, Steve Livsey; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Michael F. Roegner and sister, Juliann Garman.
Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Tuesday, 4 to 7. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of his family.
