PARMA - Thomas N. Rubbo, 76, beloved grandfather, son, brother, coach and friend, passed away Thursday morning Sept. 11, 2025. He lived a life of devotion, service and love - always putting others before himself.

Tom was born Feb. 2, 1949. He was raised in Youngstown where he graduated from Chaney high school. Later, he received a football scholarship to continue his education at Youngstown State University.

Tom proudly served his country with honor and courage in the United States Army doing one tour in Vietnam. His service shaped his strength, humility and lifelong commitment to others.

Tom built a dedicated career with the United States Postal Service, beginning as a carrier in Canfield. He later became postmaster in Cornersburg and retired as a regional supervisor for northeast Ohio.

Passionate about football, both as a player and coach, Tom dedicated countless hours to the game he loved. He coached the West Side Colts in his younger years then, following his retirement, coached at Normandy High School. On the sidelines, Tom wasn't just teaching plays - he was imparting lessons of perseverance, teamwork and heart that extended far beyond the field.

Above all, he chose his family every day with unwavering loyalty, care and pride. As a man of faith, his greatest wish was for his family to live their fullest, happiest lives. His prayers and love will continue to guide all those he cherished.

Tom is survived by many, and loved by all. He leaves behind a legacy of service, strength, and love that will never be forgotten. His family, friends, and all who knew him will carry forward his lessons, laughter, and courage.

Family and friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
