Thomas Sardilli

Thomas Sardilli, 61, of Southington, formerly of North Haven, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, after a long and brave battle with prostate cancer. Born in New Britain, son of Henry Sardilli of Newington and the late Lexie (Hamel) Sardilli, he was a longtime North Haven resident with alternating residences in both Southington and New Port Richey, Florida for the last few years. Tom joined his family's insurance agency after earning his Bachelor's degree from Quinnipiac and went on to become the owner and operator of the business in 1999. Sardilli Insurance was very successful under his ownership, winning various accolades and awards. He was also the former owner of New England Motocross (NEMX), and alongside his son was co-owner of Happy's Indoor Golf in Southington. Tom was an accomplished motocross rider, receiving numerous class championships and awards. He enjoyed golfing, boating, and vacationing with family and friends. A loving father and grandfather, he leaves his two children, Daniel Sardilli and his wife Lisa of Wethersfield, and Melissa Tharau and her husband Justin-Michael of East Hartford, and two grandsons, Calvin and Simon Sardilli. He also leaves his sister, Pamela Stanforth and her husband Wayne of Southington, the mother of his children, Holly Hanson of Destin, FL, close cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends, and his beloved canine companions, Oscar and Zeus. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 27th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A public Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 28th at 1-5pm at Burlington Men's Club, located at 44 Covey Road, Burlington.
