Thomas G. Saunders, age 56, of Cromwell, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Cromwell, Indiana. Born on September 28, 1969, in Wabash, Indiana to Ernest and Cheryl (Wingate) Saunders. Thomas married Kelley Moynihan in 2007. He lived a life marked by service, commitment, and a passion for his work and interests.
He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1988 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (I.U.P.U.I.) in 1995. Thomas enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Medical Technologist at Wabash County Hospital from 1995 to 2011. Following his tenure at the hospital, he further pursued his dedication to healthcare by establishing his own business as a Medical Laboratory Consultant, where he applied his expertise and experience to assist others in the field for many years.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Thomas served with honor in the U.S. Army National Guard. His military service reflected his commitment to his country and was complemented by his membership in the American Legion and the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
Outside of his career, Thomas was a man of many interests and hobbies. He found joy in painting, maintaining salt water fish tanks, caring for dogs, playing guitar, traveling, and sharing a good beer accompanied by a classic dad joke. Most of all, Thomas loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His vibrant personality and knack for humor touched the lives of those around him, making him a beloved friend and family member.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Ernest and Cheryl (Wingate) Saunders of Wabash; his children, Erika (Wesley) Shilling of Cromwell, Erin (Harold) Rennaker of Warsaw, Quinn Hermann of South Bend, and MacKenzie (Quinten) Sims of Willingborough, New Jersey; as well as five grandchildren and several siblings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelley (Moynihan) Saunders.
Thomas G. Saunders will be remembered for his contributions to the medical field, his unwavering spirit, and the warmth he brought to the lives of his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
