Loving husband of Stella Szczesny for 52 wonderful years and dear father of Kasia (Jay) Reese and Thomas A. Schemanski. Thomas is also survived by his brothers: Michael (Kathleen) and Victor (Rose) and sister, Rose (James) Riggle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tom has extended family in Poland, and he leaves behind his dear friend Bobby the labrador.

Tom graduated from Denby High School and attended Central Michigan University. He then went to work at Chrysler where he was a tool and die maker and retired in management. He enjoyed Bowling and Golf and played in many leagues throughout his life. He was a big fan of the Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers and was able to throw out the first pitch at Polish Night at Comerica Park.

Tom's greatest joy was his family where he was a great husband and a doting father. He made sure his children had ice skating lessons, and taught them hockey, bowling and golf. Whatever activity Kasia and Tom were in he made sure that he attended every practice, game, recital, or banquet. He showed his support for the children's activities and interests.

Tom also loved to travel, his favorite spots were Chicago, Poland and the Upper Peninsula.

Tom was a big supporter of his Polish heritage and groups in the Metro Detroit Area. His children were brought up learning the polish language, learned polish dance with the Polish Dance Groups and the Polish Scouting Groups that he supported. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance where he served as District 10 Commissioner, Lodge 1758 Vice President, and Council 122 Director. He was the State Director of the Polish American Congress, Director of the Friends of Polish Art, and a supporter of the Piast Institute in Hamtramck.

Tom will be missed deeply by his family and many friends.
