Lois Collins-Blum went to heaven on September 8, 2025 at the age of 99. Lois was born in Detroit on April 28, 1926 to the late Carl and Norma Petrat. Lois graduated from Denby High School in Detroit in 1944 and began working at Dodge Main as an executive secretary. In 1951 she was joined in holy matrimony with Tom Collins. Tom and Lois had 2 loving daughters before his passing in 1963. Lois was later wed in 1968 to Gregory Blum. Upon this union Lois gained 3 step sons. Lois and Greg enjoyed over 50 years of marriage before his passing in November of 2020. Besides her work with Dodge Main Lois was an accomplished and incredibly skilled pianist. Lois taught private lessons for many years passing her passion for the piano to countless others. She also took her unique skill to church where she played piano at the Gratiot Avenue Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Church. Continuing on with her commitment to her church Lois also sang, taught Sunday School and was a youth leader. When she wasn't heavily involved in her music ministry or her activities at church Lois could often be found traveling, wintering in Seal Beach, California, gardening, and playing card games or board games with others. Her enthusiastic laughter, humble heart, positive attitude and powerful prayer life was a blessing to her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is the beloved wife of the late Tom Collins and the late Gregory Blum. Loving mother of Nancy (Rich) Brelowski and Janet (Tom) Phipps and loving step-mother of Michael (Suzanne) Blum, the late Keith (Barbara) Blum, and James (Linda) Blum. Very proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Loving sister of the late Myra (the late Bob) Danielson. We will celebrate her life on Saturday September 27, 2025 from 10 AM until Noon with a funeral service officiated by Dr. Randy Rheaume beginning at noon at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd.), Shelby Twp. Interment will follow the funeral service at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery 38425 Garfield Rd. (corner of Clinton River Road), Clinton Township. For those that will not be able to attend Saturday's funeral service for Lois the family has arranged for the services to be live streamed on the Wasik Funeral Home website (click 'Photos and Videos' tab and then click 'Webcasting Video' button on Lois' portion of the website.
