Thomas Richard Schumaker

Retired Air Force Master Sergeant Tom "Pap Pap" Schumaker of Lakeland, Florida, signed off from this world with the same quiet strength and stubborn determination he showed in life.

Tom is survived by his devoted mother, Frieda; his loving wife, Cindy; and six sons who kept him perpetually outnumbered but never outmatched: Thomas, Brian, Robert, Tommy, Michael, and Brandon. Against the odds (and perhaps with the help of a well-timed glare or two), he managed to shepherd his band of boys into the fine men they are today.

A man of simple joys and steady hands, Tom found happiness in camping under the stars, tackling home projects (often with his trusty brother-in-law at his side), bowling with friends, and the occasional round of golf that may or may not have involved "creative" scorekeeping. Football Sundays were sacred, even if the refs were wrong (which, in his opinion, was most of the time).

He lived life with a laugh at the ready, a project on the workbench, and enough love to fill a stadium. Pap Pap wasn't just fun-loving-he was love itself in action: in every campfire story, every DIY fix, every proud smile at his sons.

While he may no longer be here to debate football calls, his legacy endures in the family he built, the friendships he fostered, and the laughter he leaves behind.
