Thomas Christopher Shippey, 55, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2023. He was born on October 28, 1967 in Stafford Springs, CT.   

For those honored and blessed to have known Tom, his laughter echoes in their hearts.  His time spent in EMS and EMT only accentuated his caring heart. Tom's immense love for animals will be remembered as a legacy.  His bond with his beloved wife, Stephanie, exemplified the kind, caring, and gentle soul he had, not only to her but to everyone he encountered.

Tom worked for many years as an EMT in Connecticut, where he touched many lives through his encounters with patients and co-workers alike. After moving to Texas, he spent time working at University Medical Center ER department as well as his time dedicated to Lubbock County Adult Probation, forming many dear friendships along the way.

Tom will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his wife, Stephanie Shippey, his sister Jacqueline Root, and his nephew Christopher Reh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Thomas Shippey.

Tom left an impression on all the hearts he touched and will be sorrowfully missed.

A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will be held at 2:00pm CT, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Venue on Broadway, located at 2202 Broadway, Lubbock, TX 79401.

In honor of Tom's memory, his family kindly requests that donations be made to an animal welfare organization of your choice.
