DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA
Thomas "Tom" Alvin Stevens
Thomas "Tom" Alvin Stevens, 62, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 after battling cancer for over six years. Born February 6, 1963 in Barbour County, WV, he was the son of the late Ronald Dave Stevens and Lucy Smith Stevens and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Junie Cross. Tom earned a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Fairmont State University and went on to found Stevens Interiors, Inc. construction company in 1998. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain. Tom grew up fishing in streams and carried a passion for hunting and fishing for the rest of his life. He loved riding his Kubota tractor, bush hogging his farm in Ohio, and caring for his beloved mini-animal farm. Tom spent more than 15 years coaching youth sports and was an avid fan of West Virginia University Mountaineers athletics. He enjoyed an occasional glass of buttermilk, adding salt to any dish, and was known for the stash he kept in his "hidden" candy drawer. Tom's family will cherish their memories of a devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather for the rest of their lives.
