Thomas suffered from a long illness. He passed away on July 2nd at his home in his sleep. That was his wish and God granted him his wish.
He was born in Newburgh, NY on May 12, 1953.
He was a loving husband with a big heart. He was a lover of animals especially our babies of which we had many throughout the years. He loved baseball and football, the Yankees and Giants being his favorites. He was an avid bowler and played on a league for many years. After high school graduation from Newburgh Free Academy, he worked many jobs before being hired for a position at IBM in Poughkeepsie. He worked there until he retired.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife Susan; his brother, Jim Sylvester; his nieces, Dr. Gina Prokosch Cook, Joanna Zucker, Sabrina Sylvester and Sophia Sylvester; his nephews, Matt Prokosch, Andrew Sylvester, and Daniel Sylvester.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Anna Sylvester; and his sister Mary Ann Prokosch.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh on July 9th from 11AM to 12PM with a prayer service at noon.
