Mr. Thomas A. “Tom” Waters, 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Waters was born in Pembroke to the late Thomas “T.L.” Waters and Eloyce Quattlebaum Waters on July 13, 1932. He was graduated from Bryan County High School in 1950 and attended the Georgia Teachers College, ABAC and graduated in 1961 at UGA with a degree in Forest Management. He served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War and later retired as a Natural Resource Manager with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was also the Magistrate Judge for Bryan County and was a bailiff for over 15 years with Bryan County. Mr. Waters was a longtime member of the Pembroke Christian Church and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed walking in his neighborhood.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Gay Waters; brother, Rex Waters and two sisters, Katherine Waters and Nan Pennington.
Survivors include his two sons, Thomas Brian Waters and Ashton Avery Waters and his wife Jean and granddaughter, Cara.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Northside Cemetery.
