Thomas L. Trout, 80, of Cameron, IL, passed away at 2:06 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.
He was born on June 2, 1941 in Brazil, IN, the son of William L. and Ruby V. (Hunsicker) Trout. Tom attended grade school in Smithfield, IL and graduated from Galesburg High School. He later earned his Associates Degree from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg.
Tom proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1963.
Tom married Sharon K. McRell on October 16, 1964 in Cameron, IL; she survives.
Tom worked at Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg for 42 years until his retirement. He enjoyed collecting coins, scrapping, and using his metal detector.
Surviving Tom is his wife Sharon Trout of Cameron, IL; his children, Micheal R. (Tammy L.) Trout of Cameron, IL, Patrick W. Trout of Waterloo, IL, Christopher L. Trout of Cameron, IL, Melissa K. Davis of Galesburg, IL; his grandchildren, Nickolas Atwell of Port Allen, LA, Ashley (Josh) Seifert of Galesburg, IL, Heather (Tyler Nelson) Trout of Galesburg, IL, James M. Trout of St. Louis, MO, Nathan L. Trout of Waterloo, IL, Christopher T. Trout of Missouri, Kaytlynn N. (Jerry) Wildbahn of Lombard, IL, Samantha G. Trout of Little York, IL, Thomas R. Trout of Alexandria, VA; his great grandchildren, Gatlin Atwell, Elizabeth Atwell, Raven Nelson, Archie Nelson, Remington Seifert, expecting Baby Seifert, Victor Nelson, and Xavier Trout. Also surviving are three sisters, Gladys (Bill) Olson, Edna (Jim) Leath and Patricia (Sam) Fox all of Cameron, IL, and one brother, William Trout of Galesburg, IL; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mildred Trout; one son, Timothy Trout, sister, Dorothy Watt; grandson, Joshua Atwell; brother, Walter Trout; sister-n-law, Peggy Trout.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Thomas Trout Memorial Fund. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
