Thomas E. Van Cleave, 91, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, in Livonia. He was born December 5, 1933, in Ohio to Robert and Mabel (Craddock) Van Cleave. He married Burna Jean Booher, and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2013.
Tom graduated from Quincy High School and went on to attend Michigan State University. He first came home to work on the family farm, and later owned and operated his own business, Paramount Stone, working primarily in the Detroit area as a stone mason. He was also a skilled handyman and ready to help others in need. Tom had a passion for the outdoors and working with horses. He spent many days attending horse shows, calf roping and reining events. Most of all, he was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Sheri (Ron) Vasilnek, Thomas (Heather) Van Cleave, Jr. and Robert Van Cleave; grandchildren, Kyle, Alena, Kendall (Eddie), Thomas (Naviah), Jacqueline, Erin and Allison; and great-grandchildren, Edison, Maxwell and Owen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Burna; and brother, Gene Van Cleave.
Funeral services for Thomas Van Cleave will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Isaac Tyson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 3-7 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, American Diabetes Association, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
