Thomas Arthur Van Tol

Thomas A. Van Tol, age 75, of Caledonia, MI went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2025. Thomas loved spending time with his family in the pool and taking care of his household. He was an avid U of M football fan and enjoyed watching sports and golfing. Thomas was a three sport All Conference Athlete at Union High School and graduated from Western Michigan University. He worked as a food broker for McMahon and McDonald for most of his career, retiring after many years of faithful service when he was 65 years old. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Betty Van Tol; sister, Sandy Hessler; brother, Jeff Van Tol. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Patricia; children, Melissa (Brian) Kooistra, Matthew (Jill) Van Tol; grandchildren, Colin, Madeline, Malorie, Zachary, Henry, Micah, and Eli; brother, Patrick (Marcie) Van Tol; sister-in-law, Laurie Van Tol; brother-in-law, Gary Hessler; sisters-in-law, Ruthie VanderVeen, Judy (Bob) Duckworth, Pam Wilson; many nieces and nephews. The family welcomes relatives and friends to a visitation at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, on Thursday, December 18, from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Friday, December 19, at Lakeside Community Church, 6201 Whitneyville Ave. SE, Alto, 49302, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service from 12 to 1 PM; with Pastor Dave Bosscher officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Thomas may be made to South Christian High School or Alzheimer's Association.
